John G. Testa

John G. Testa is a five-term Westchester County Legislator and minority leader for the legislature’s board, previously serving as mayor of the city of Peekskill, N.Y. from 2002 to 2007. He a retired teacher (33 years) of technology and social studies, focusing on graphic design, publishing, photography, and printing. He is also the former owner of GraphTech Graphics and Design and is the president of The Testa Group, LLC. Testa has worked to preserve local historical structures, including the Lincoln Depot, Peekskill’s original train depot where President-Elect Abraham Lincoln addressed the community in 1861. He is currently president of the Lincoln Depot Museum. Testa actively supports the arts, including the construction of the Peekskill Art Lofts, the establishment of the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, and the complete restoration of the Paramount Center for the Arts, originally a 1930s movie house. For his work, he was honored by with the Westchester Arts Council with the “Advancing the Arts in Westchester Award.” Testa received a bachelor’s degree in technology from SUNY Oswego and was inducted into Epsilon Pi Tau, the International Honorary Fraternity of Technology. He earned a master’s degree in technology from City College.
